just to make sure everyone knows that google can do anything they put their mind to, they've brought back the internet from 2001, the whole(ish) internet. using their oldest available search index you can now search and view pages from way back in 2001. looking for youtube? myspace? facebook? not invented yet. what's really interesting is seeing the first version of wikipedia, back when it was still run by a couple of blokes in a shed.
anyway, can't really think of a marketing application for it, but it's all very interesting (try searching for 'breaking news', or search some competitors websites and laugh at how crap they are), and is a great reminder that google are all-powerful. be afraid.
